The Cascades Mountain Bike site has a reputation as being safe and convenient and is one of the few venues countrywide that lies within the city boundaries with great facilities on its doorstep. Apart from these benefits, it is the only Triple course in the country and the only course that has international accreditation for all its discipline courses. This area is part of the legacy programme after the 2009 UCI MTB World cup event that was staged at the venue and is utilised for a variety of competitions throughout the year as well as being available for the development of riders at all levels. Johann Wykerd and his team of enthusiastic workers and course builders has been hard at work for a number of months already to tweak the various courses so as to prepare the best possible competition area for the event in March. Apart from the three competition areas and courses, the venue will also include ample spaces for the team technical areas (see maps below), sponsor display areas, media centre, VIP area, accreditation centre and a team rider’s centre. .
